The story of the National Theatre of Dubai Choir began with an idea born on paper, its features written by the creative members of the National Theatre of Dubai’s Board of Directors, later transforming into a living artistic project that brings together voices and energies in a collective musical experience. The choir was established to be an open space that embraces local and Arab talents residing in the United Arab Emirates, providing them with an opportunity to meet and express themselves through music and singing.
From the beginning, the theatre was the primary incubator for this experience, offering specialized workshops and courses in choral singing under the supervision of trainers and specialists in this field, to develop skills, refine voices, and build the spirit of collaborative artistic work.
In November 2025, the choir members began their rehearsals in preparation for participating in the celebrations of the UAE’s 54th National Day, where the choir presented its first concert before a large audience. That moment was an unforgettable milestone, in which the members felt the true spirit of teamwork, and the audience’s interaction and encouragement served as motivation for further creativity and dedication.
Over time, the National Theatre of Dubai Choir has become an artistic space that brings together lovers of choral singing, blending authenticity with modernity, and opening the door for every talented individual to express their voice and share their experience with an audience that appreciates art and music. Since the first concert, it has become clear that the choir is not merely voices singing, but a living artistic experience that reflects the spirit of youth and creativity in Dubai.
On an exceptional evening of the nation’s evenings, specifically on Thursday, December 4, 2025, the National Theatre of Dubai Choir recorded the first chapter of its artistic story with its official launch, which came in celebration of the 54th National Day of the United Arab Emirates. That night was not merely an artistic performance but a moment of birth for a new collective voice that carried on the theatre stage the spirit of unity and the warmth of belonging amid a large public attendance that filled the theatre hall in a scene that reflected the significance and special place of the occasion in everyone’s hearts. As the lights dimmed and the first melody began, the choir announced itself with one cohesive voice, opening the evening with a performance of the UAE’s national anthem, with feelings of pride rising and an atmosphere of reverence and honor filling the hall. Then the patriotic musical segments followed, as if they were love letters sung to the nation, including works connected to memory and sentiment such as: “Binouna,” “Dar Zayed,” “Al-Qalayed,” “Helwa Al-Emarat,” and “Hay Bil-Shahama,” where voices blended to form a musical tableau pulsating with identity. With each song, the audience shared the choir’s feelings through applause, interaction, and immersion, until the hall transformed into a single space of sound and emotion, with no boundaries separating the stage from the audience. That night was more than a launch… it was the birth announcement of a new artistic voice bearing the name of the nation, singing for it with collective feeling, as the National Theatre of Dubai Choir began its journey from where the most beautiful singing begins: from the heart.
When We Sang for Flowers on Their International Day
Accompanied by artist Mirna Mallouhi at Mohammed bin Rashid Library in Dubai,
the “Ya Bada’ Al-Ward” evening came to celebrate the beauty of flowers
and the symbolism they carry in human consciousness.
During the evening, a bouquet of timeless Arabic songs was presented,
sung by the great stars of Arab art
who celebrated flowers in their musical works,
in a musical atmosphere filled with traditional music and authenticity
that brought back to memory the aesthetics of Arabic song and its celebratory spirit.
